Attacked by spam

Apparently, some jerk is hell bent on commenting on every post of mine with a buttload of spam. I've turned on approve comments for now.

Don't click any of the links posting in Asian characters in comments. I have no idea what they are. I'm deleting them, but it's going to take a little while to get through them all.

Yeah, those Asian character links are always a bad idea.

That happened to me too. I have one post that's a year old with 65+ spam comments all of a sudden. So I turned on comment moderation for posts 10+ days old. Seems to work. But what the fuck? Someone needs to release the anti-spam internet virus to devour these people.

It sucks. This dude is hitting new and old posts alike.

But you can fwd them on to abuse@blogger.com to report.

Please stand by! Killing spammer asap!

And agreed. WTF?

Erin, that happens sometimes, and it's an automated thing.

Scott's right - turn on the comment moderation for older posts. That always helps. Good luck!

This person hit one of my blogs, also. I pasted the characters into a Chinese to English translator and the text came back as a Chinese proverb. I thought of a saying I would've liked to send him if I knew how. :)

I turned on moderation, and the posts stopped.

Sorry to hear about your spam problems! I've been hit pretty hard lately too. Jerks.
